Jesuits among the patriarchs of Ngondo in homage to Priest Eric de Rosny Dibunje

Visite des Economes des Institutions Jésuites d’Afrique au Palais de la Culture Sawa.
Visit of the Bursars of the Jesuit Institutions of Africa to the Sawa Palace of Culture.

Along with many of their collaborators, the Bursar Fathers of the Jesuit Conference of Africa and Madagascar met in Douala for a meeting scheduled to take place from Monday 16 to Saturday 21 September 2024.

On the morning of Thursday, September 19, 2024, under the leadership of Patriarch Manga Henri, coordinator of the ad hoc reception team, and in the presence of the Vice-President of Ngondo, His Majesty Mbodi Epee Gaston, on the sidelines of their work and as part of the leisure activities in the city, our hosts paid a courtesy visit to the "Beyoum ba bato", the brotherhood of the men-root or patriarchs of which the Jesuit Father Éric de Rosny was a member, due to his deep immersion in the local cultural tradition.

The author of the book Le pays Sawa, ma passion (2011) arrived in Douala in 1957 and stayed there for many years, before his death in March 2012 in France.

This courtesy visit is just a foretaste of the tribute that the “Beyoum ba bato ba Ngondo”, the CUD and their partners plan to pay to Éric de Rosny Dibunje next November.
